Addressing The Latest $20 Chef Controversy

I wasn’t going to say anything about this, I don’t ‘get in the mud’ too often, but I feel like it’s my duty as a blogger to call out bull shit when I see it and this my friends…is bullshit. I’m talking, of course, about the first annual Barstool Cornhole Singles Open. More specifically the prize associated with the open. What’s the prize you ask?

Two tickets to Six Flags and $100 for parking. That’s not a joke either. I asked Shaun if it was and he was dead serious about that being the prize. Part of me wants to rip him for being so clueless and the other part of me doesn’t even know what to say. I get that this tournament is just for fun and about bragging rights and blah blah blah, but Six Flags? Really? No ones going to play for fear that they might actually win.

I’m not saying that a prize isn’t a good idea, but you work in an office full of gamblers, the prize can’t be a punishment. It has to be something people will actually enjoy. Something that will get them fired up. Something like…MONEY. Take Field Day for example. Dave could sense some people were apprehensive about the games so he put ten grand down, winner take all. Obviously that’s a shit ton of cash, but what about $500? I’m sure people would pitch in. I guess we’ll just have to spice things up with some side action. Anyway, here’s the bracket. Do better, Chef. It’s not too late to make this all right.
